Introduce
The medium-consistency pressure screen is mainly used to handle pulp at a medium consistency, typically ranging between 8% and 15%. Compared to low-consistency pressure screens, it can perform effective screening and separation operations at a higher pulp consistency.
Its working principle is to utilize the pressure difference to make the pulp pass through the screen holes on the screen plate, separating impurities, coarse fibers, and non-compliant fibers, thereby obtaining pulp of higher quality and purity.

4.Inlet and Outlet Ports
The inlet port is designed rationally and precisely, usually adopting a gradually expanding or diversion structure to ensure the medium-consistency pulp enters the screen uniformly, stably, and at an appropriate pressure and speed. The size and shape of the inlet port are optimized to reduce pressure loss and flow rate fluctuations at the inlet.
The outlet ports include the good pulp outlet and the reject pulp outlet. The good pulp outlet is typically located at the upper part or side of the screen body, designed to be smooth and spacious to ensure the screened high-quality pulp can be discharged rapidly and smoothly, reducing resistance and pressure loss. The reject pulp outlet is usually located at the bottom or a specific position of the screen body and is equipped with an adjustable valve or control device to flexibly control the discharge speed and quantity of the reject pulp based on the impurity content and process requirements during the screening process.
Working Principle
1.Inlet
Under the propulsion of an external pressure pump or other conveying equipment, the medium-consistency pulp enters the interior of the medium-consistency pressure screen smoothly and uniformly through a meticulously designed inlet pipeline and inlet port at a certain pressure and flow rate.
During the inlet process, pressure sensors and flow sensors monitor the pressure and flow rate of the inlet pulp in real-time, feeding the data back to the control system for timely adjustment and maintenance of the stability of the inlet parameters.
The special structure and diversion design of the inlet port enable the pulp to rapidly diffuse within the screen, forming a uniform flow state and creating favorable initial conditions for the subsequent screening process.
2.Screening
Once the pulp enters the screen, the high-speed rotating rotor comes into play. The blades on the rotor generate a strong centrifugal force and turbulence, creating a complex and efficient flow pattern near the screen plate.
Due to the size of the screen holes on the screen plate being smaller than the size of impurities and non-compliant fibers, under the combined action of centrifugal force, pressure, and turbulence, the fine fibers and liquid that meet the requirements can smoothly pass through the screen holes, while the larger impurities and non-compliant fibers are blocked on the surface of the screen plate.
Simultaneously, the rotation of the rotor constantly renews the contact area between the pulp and the screen plate, ensuring the continuity and efficiency of the screening process and avoiding clogging of the screen holes and a decline in the screening efficiency.
3.Reject Discharge
The impurities and non-compliant fibers blocked on the surface of the screen plate gradually move towards the reject pulp outlet under the continuous push of the rotor.
The control device at the reject pulp outlet automatically or manually adjusts the opening degree based on the preset parameters and the real-time monitoring of the screening effect to control the discharge speed and quantity of the reject pulp.
The discharged reject pulp can be further processed or recycled to reduce resource waste and environmental pollution.
